The OIC, which has 57 members from across four continents, is the second-largest intergovernmental organization after the United Nations. To protect and uphold the political and socioeconomic interests of the Muslim world.

The OIC’s office, according to the acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi would be beneficial in fostering political collaboration and providing financial and humanitarian relief. Senior Islamic Emirate officials and OIC diplomats attended a ceremony to officially launch the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) presence in Kabul. He also stated during the ceremony that the office will be crucial in fostering better ties between Afghanistan and Islamic nations.

The OIC mission in Afghanistan will open the door for better ties between Afghanistan and other Islamic nations and would be beneficial in fostering political collaboration in addition to providing financial and humanitarian relief.

In addition to humanitarian cooperation, said Muttaqi, “we think this mission will have a positive role in political and economic matters.”

Speaking at the event were Tariq Ali Bakheet, assistant secretary general for humanitarian and cultural affairs, and the special representative for Afghanistan for the OIC secretary general. According to Tariq Ali Bakheet, an OIC mission in Kabul that has been fully activated “is ready to assume an effective role in the delivery of the OIC’s humanitarian and development aid.” Muhammad Saeed Al-Ayash, the director general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) office in Afghanistan, said, “With God’s compassion, the OIC has opened its office in Kabul.”

The acting foreign minister said the Islamic Emirate would also assist the OIC mission.

While the OIC starts its operations in Afghanistan and aims to help the country strengthen itself economically and politically, it has the substance and clout to advocate for girls’ education and women’s rights. The OIC has the opportunity to gain the most for the betterment of Afghan people. The Taliban could be more receptive to the Islamic fraternity.
