Afghanistan’s Consulate General in Karachi, in a letter addressed to Directorate General, Transit Trade Custom House, Karachi, has proposed several concrete recommendations to issues faced in Afghan transit trade, ranging from the shortage of tracking devices, increasing demurrages and detention, the slow process of scanning and examination and slow movement of cargo at Chaman/Torkham crossing points. The affected traders have reached out to CRSS regarding these issues. CRSS, in its own capacity, has time and again raised these issues with relevant stakeholders and recommended key solutions which were graciously acknowledged by the authorities. Below is the letter from the Commercial Consular/Attache, Dr. Ghulam Nayab.
