Today, 21 September 2026, we commemorate the International Day of Peace under the theme “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.” This year’s theme honours the “everyday architects of peace” — people who drive local action, lay the groundwork for stability, and contribute to building lasting peace from the ground up. Afghan Studies Center (ASC) has always advocated for the collective efforts of governments, civil society, religious and tribal stakeholders, youth, and communities to contribute to a sustainable and peaceful relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
On this International Day of Peace, ASC calls for continued efforts towards a sustainable and more peaceful Pak-Afghan region, where dialogue, understanding, and people-to-people connections can contribute to lasting peace.
