National radio and television reported on Tuesday, April 16th, that from today onwards, patients without legal documents such as passports and visas will not be allowed entry into Pakistan.

According to the reports, around 7:00 PM last night, April 15th, Pakistan closed its borders to patients.

However, the national radio and television report states that from today onwards, patients without legal documents such as passports and visas will not be allowed entry into Pakistan.

This comes as previously the Pakistani government allowed entry to patients lacking legal documents, especially cancer patients.

The closure of the Torkham border crossing to patients occurs while, due to the lack of advanced healthcare facilities in Afghanistan, some citizens travel to Pakistan for treatment.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Authorities in Balochistan province have issued a warning for Afghan migrants, urging them to leave villages in the region voluntarily by Tuesday. Afghan migrants holding Afghan citizenship cards and registration cards are particularly targeted.

Amidst these warnings, Afghan migrants revealed that police have threatened forcible expulsion if they fail to vacate Baluchistan’s villages by 8 a.m. local time on April 16th. Villages like Kraz, Nav Bazar, and Pishin are specifically instructed to evacuate and return to Afghanistan.

Initially, the Pakistani government assured that Afghan migrants possessing Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC) and Proof of Registration (PoR) cards would not face expulsion. However, provincial authorities in Balochistan have now announced plans to expel even legal migrants, intensifying the plight of over 700,000 Afghan migrants deported since November last year.
