In an exclusive interview with ThePrint’s Jyoti Malhotra & Nikhil Hajirnis, Zamir Kabulov – Russia’s special envoy on Afghanistan – has said that an agreement between the US and the Taliban will soon be reached on ending violence in Afghanistan and a gradual US withdrawal from the war-torn country. Kabulov also said that Pakistan “was a key partner and played a role in the negotiations”. He further said that Russia, China and Pakistan were on board with the US-Taliban agreement, but also stated that even though India “should be on board”, it had no influence.
