Afghan artists, curators and international experts are restoring the damaged displays.

Afghanistan’s National Museum in the capital Kabul is marking its 100th anniversary.

Many of its pre-Islamic artifacts were destroyed by the Taliban 18 years ago. Artists are working to restore them, hoping it will turn the page on a dark chapter of the country’s past.
